About the Culture Committee
The Yerington Paiute Tribe Culture Committee is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and revitalizing the cultural heritage of the Tribe for future generations. The Committee leads efforts in cultural preservation and education, historical research and archives, repatriation of ancestral remains and cultural items, and land-back initiatives that restore and protect culturally significant lands. Through community programming, traditional teachings, language and cultural activities, and partnerships with Tribal departments and outside organizations, the Committee works to strengthen cultural identity and ensure the continuation of Numu traditions. The Committee is also leading the development of a permanent Cultural Department and Cultural Center that will serve as a hub for education, preservation, research, and community engagement.
